============================================================= The Tragically Hip - 1991.12.31 - Congress Centre, Ottawa, ON ============================================================= Source: Internet Stream -> Audacity (WAV) -> Edit - No EQ or processing used - Broadcast Date: 2021.02.06 Show Notes: Thanks to The Hip for unvaulting this NYE gem for us! It's a great Road Apples show with some instant treasures in the setlist. A few standouts are Montreal, Fight, and the fast version of So Hard Done By. During NOIS, Gord tries out his Fifty-Mission Cap and Looking for a Place to Happen lyrics, along with some lines from This Flight Tonight (Joni Mitchell). You can also hear a few subtle notes of Nautical Disaster in there. Now that's an early teaser! The band's really trying out those Fully Completely songs in this performance, with 4 of them making an appearance. One song in particular, At The Hundredth Meridian, even has a different chord progression than the final album version. It's so cool to hear the evolution of a Hip song, and how they like to work through it on stage. Lucky us ;) Enjoy the Show! - Mike'n'Cheese Tracklist: 1. Intro 2. Three Pistols 3. So Hard Done By 4. The Luxury Sound Notes: Setting aside the effects that the stream has on this recording, it's not a bad sounding show. Bass lovers will enjoy the thick mix, and you can hear all the guys pretty good. Unfortunately, there is some tape hiss, and the highs aren't as clean as they could be. All the signs of an old cassette tape. The only edits were the fixes of a few amplitude spikes and dropouts.
